A Broken Heart and a Messed up Mind

A parting gift  to remind me of you

A  keepsake for all the things that we’d do

I’ll tell you no lies, I speak as I find

I’ve got a broken heart and a messed up mind.

You cleared your things from out of my place

Stood at my door with a coat and a case

and there are only two things

that you gone and left behind

That is a broken heart and a messed up mind.

A broken heart and a messed up mind

You never said a word that was loving or kind

My future seems to be signed and sealed

A broken heart may never be healed

All my friends told me I’d get hurt

You’d end up treating me just like a piece of dirt

Didn’t see it coming I must have been blind

I’ve got a broken heart and a messed up mind.

A broken heart and a messed up mind

You never said a word that was loving or kind

My future seems to be signed and sealed

A broken heart may never be healed

I worked all week for a fair week’s pay

You’d spend it all in less than a day

I’ve got hands that are calloused and a face that’s lined

and a  broken heart and a messed up mind.

I’ve got a broken heart and a messed up mind.
