Me and the Moon

When the situation clears And leaving time is near

You say that you’ll be going soon at another evening’s end

If there’s ever been a doubt what your plans are all about

I recognise your mood and the things I never said

As I lie here in my bed as I lie here in my bed

The two of us, me and the moon the two of us, me and the moon.

Me and the moon are such old friends you know the moon never pretends

The two of us, me and the moon the two of us, me and the moon.

Every night we’re back again me and my friend the moon.

At the darkest time of the night when my eyes are closed up tight

I still hear our favourite tune and think of how we’d sing it

If there’s one thing that I know I don’t want to spoil the show

Left again with just the moon the friend to which I cling

As I lie here in my bed as I lie here in my bed

The two of us, me and the moon the two of us, me and the moon.

Me and the moon are such old friends you know the moon never pretends

The two of us, me and the moon the two of us, me and the moon.

Every night we’re back again me and my friend the moon.

One day I will look back at this Taste the memory of your kiss

Without this constant threat of doom and think about the way we fought

And think about the way we fought snd how you left without a thought

the two of us us me and the moon

the two of us us me and the moon
