Me The Cat and The Telephone

My friends are all married and settled down

While I’m still out here running around

They seem to think I’ve got it made

All my options carefully weighed

Well that’s not the way things really are

I think they’re better off by far

Here’s another night that I’m home alone

Just me and the cat and the telephone.

I guess it’s true that I’m still my the boss

I do what I want, don’t count the cost

On nights when I have the house to myself

There’s only me here there’s nobody else

My pals are secure in their settled lives

They all have their kids they have wives

It’s Saturday night in my one man home

Just me and the cat and the telephone.
