Her Daddy used to hide the backdoor key
Under a stone where she knew it would be
But her Daddy didn’t know that I knew too
And I used to sneak in when I wanted to.
Her Daddy used to snore, and I do mean snore
I’d creep up the stairs and slip through her door
As long as we heard him making his noise
We could spend all night doing what we enjoyed
The key and the door and the stone
Remind me of our happy home
Everything changes and it all stays the same
Just new players in the same old game.
