I'll always Believe In You

When I hit rock-bottom
I was living on the street
In Winter’s cold I still had
Summer’s shoes upon my feet
I’d hang round restaurant waste bins
On the chance that I might eat
But I still believed in you.
I knew that you’d come through
Do all that you could do
I believe in you
I lost my faith in family
And the other friends I had
They turned their backs and whispered
That they knew I’d turn out bad
I can’t say I was angry
But I just felt sort of sad
And I still believed in you.
I knew that you’d come through
Do all that you could do
I believe in you
Each day I look for boxes
To make my version of bed
If I can’t find a sheltered space
Each night revives the dread
A heavy frost could mean
That by morning I’ll be dead
But I’ll always believe in you.
I know that you’ll come through
And do all that you can do
I believe in you
